Arrival Dublin

If you've never done an inter-airline transfer at JFK, don"t.  We went down escalators and up escalators interspersed with a zillion miles of moving sidewalks; and then we had to take the Air train to the international terminal.  Got on going WRONG direction. Got off next stop. Got on going Right direction.  More escalators and moving sidewalks and finally we arrived to check in with Aer  Lingus and go through security yet again. We eventually arrived in time to board. Whew!!  WE ARE QUITE POSSIBLY THE REASON THEY REQUIRE 2 HOUR CONNECTIONS.  It's certainly one means of filling the time between flights. HA.

We arrived in Dublin at 5:30 am.  It is now 9:30 pm and still awake (just until I finish this post).  We took a wee nap while waiting for out travel compadres and then were off to the train station for our tickets for tomorrow.  Time for a pick me up.  Irish coffees Yum, and a pint of Guinness for Ginger.
Oh, we also had lunch at the pub.

Went to Trinity College to see "The Book of Kells".  A really old book of the four Gospels hand illustrated.  Around 900 BC.  Lovely.  Then we were off on a get on/get off city tour.  Are you exhausted yet?  As we boarded our bus, Terry asked the driver "How long do you go?"  This very jolly little irishman looked at her and said something to the effect of "Darlin that is a real loaded question".  Ha.  She immediately said "I meant "How long does this bus go".  "I'm a little tired".  We got off the bus only once to tour the old prison (Kilmainham Gaol).  18th Century prison which has housed all the prisoners (mostly the leaders of the many irish rebellions over the past years.  A sad and depressing place.  All and all a good day.  A little Irish rain and we had to ride home on the upper deck in the wind. Brrrrr!
