We then found our B & B and were checked in by a lovely lady by the name of Carmel. We booked a cab for our return journey to the ferry terminal in the morning. Business concluded, we quickly deposited the now one ton bags in our rooms and adjourned to the bar. We ordered a bottle of wine and our hostess Carmel assured us if we were unable to drink it all, she could probably be encouraged to help. Alas, there was not a drop left for poor Carmel. Ah, the restorative properties of a glass of wine. Jo Anne,s good humor has been restored.
Following our little rest and respite, Carmel sent us just up the road about 10-15 minutes to Culleton's pub for dinner. The Irish 15 minute walk turns out to be about a 25 minute American walk, so naturally upon arrival we needed yet another glass of wine with our dinner. Dinner was delish. Roast pork and mash (potatoes). Following another 25 minute walk back to the hotel, we were again in need of a small libation. While sipping our Bailey's over ice, we met a charming Welsh couple by the name of Helen and Roger Evans. They had been to a horse race up around Dublin and were there to catch the ferry home . Coincidentally, they live in the area of our first stop Wales. We have been invited to "come round" for coffee's during our stay. We shall do so. Highly recommend both the Ferry Port B&B and the pub for good pub food. It has been an eventful day and so we are off to our beds.
