Arrival at Ferry Port B&B

We debarked from the train with maybe 3 other passengers who promptly disappeard down the ramp. There was no station per se, so we followed the walkway to the street.
There was not a cab or person in sight.  Ginger and I left Terry and Jo Anne with the bags and walked around the corner to find a gent manning a booth to accept freight for the ferries.  We asked if he knew where the Ferry Port B & B was located.  He pointed to a hill top and said "Cross the street and follow the walkway up the hill past the church". Two thousand seven hundred three steps later we arrived at the top of the hill.  This is what we toted up the hill
and then Jo Anne's face just says it all.

We then found our B & B and were checked in by a lovely lady by the name of Carmel. We booked a cab for our return journey to the ferry terminal in the morning.  Business concluded, we quickly deposited the now one ton bags in our rooms and adjourned to the bar.   We ordered a bottle of wine and our hostess Carmel assured us if we were unable to drink it all, she could probably be encouraged to help.  Alas, there was not a drop left for poor Carmel.  Ah, the restorative properties of a glass of wine. Jo Anne,s good humor has been restored.

Following our little rest and respite, Carmel sent us just up the road about 10-15 minutes to Culleton's  pub for dinner.  The Irish 15 minute walk turns out to be about a 25 minute American walk, so naturally upon arrival we needed yet another glass of wine with our dinner.  Dinner was delish.  Roast pork and mash (potatoes).
Following another 25 minute walk back to the hotel, we were again in need of a small libation.  While sipping our Bailey's over ice, we met a charming Welsh couple by the name of Helen and Roger Evans.  They had been to a horse race up around Dublin and  were there to catch the ferry home .   Coincidentally, they live in the area of our first stop Wales.  We have been invited to "come round" for coffee's during our stay.  We shall do so.  Highly recommend both the Ferry Port B&B and the pub for good pub food.  It has been an eventful day and so we are off to our beds.
