Coast Drive and Presilli Hills

With me driving and Ginger navigating, we set off up the coast road on our way to Presilli HIlls area. Some of the blue stones used to build Stonehenge were obtained in the Presilli Hills. This was one of the roads we were on.
Oh yes, it was a two lane road.  We found our way back through Fishguard onto the road to Presili Hills, although we might have circled a couple of roundabouts until we found the right exit.

We stopped at in information center in Newport for map and sights to see while driving through Presilli Hills.  Decided to have a spot of tea and lunch.
Yes we also drink tea.  While sitting inside the cafe we started seeing a string of TR 6 autos going by the window. Terry ran and got a shot of some.
We then proceded to our turn off to an ancient burial chamber which was again on a two lane road suitable for one small car.

As we walked down a path to the burial chamber there was a field of sheep grazing and a beautiful vista.  Pentre Ifan is the name of the burial chamber and is the most impressive and biggest megolithic monument in Wales.  It is the remains of a chambered tomb erected for the communal burial of the dead.  Erected in the Neolithic age as early as 3500 B.C.

While at the site several others arrived and turned out to be part of the TR 6 crowd and were all parked behind us on the road.  Ours is the really jazzy blue Nissan in front.

They all went flying down the road ahead of us, as we slowly made our way down the narrow road.  We had to make a pit stop at the beach WC where Terry thinking the ladies was locked,  went into the men's room.  Just about that time a man walked up and I told him there was a lady inside.  He said "Ah, she went into the gent's did she?" and pointed out the ladies open door.  He guarded the "GENT's" until our girl came out.  Back on the road we came through a tiny hamlet called Solva on both sides of the road.  We stopped there and had tea and walked up a narrow path into the woods to see the blooming bluebells.

The end of really fun day with a few misadventures and wrong turns involving a lot of shifting gears going up steep hills.  We were laughing so hard on one hill that I could hardly see.  Somehow (I think instinct took over),  I managed to shift on the hill and maintain our momentum.  It was a crazy minute but a really good laugh.
