London - Changing of the Guard - Trafalgar Square - Harrods

We hopped on the "Tube" this morning to Buckingham Palace for the Changing of the Guard (we're getting good at this).  As this is JoAnne and Ginger's last day, we are on a mission to see the Change, Trafalgar and Harrods before they have to go back to the apartment to pack.  Got a spot on the steps right in front of the center gate,
thinking we had the ideal spot
until something happened and a million arms with phone cameras, Ipad cameras, and digital cameras got in the way.  We got some really great arm shots.
Thanks to edit programs we were able to crop out some of the extraneous arms, hands and heads to get a few fair shots of the ceremony.

Once the ceremony ended we headed out to find lunch
and then back to the "Tube" to go to Trafalgar Square.

You can just see Big Ben in the background

A new statue in one corner of the square.  Just doesn't seem to fit in with the fountains, lions and statues of a more elegant nature.
Back on the Tube" to Harrods,

mostly to see the food market in this "oh so famous and posh store".  I mean were talking chandeliers in the fruit and vegetable market.

If it's a food or beverage, Harrod's has the best and the most expensive.  This caviar and accessories had a price tag of 705 pounds sterling.
Whoa!
Lots of places to eat at different sections of the store, such as the fish area,
the meat area.

There was tea
and confections.

and flowers
and on and on.

We couldn't afford anything, so we went across the street and had tea at a little cafe that only charged 3.45 pound sterling (about $5.85) for a cup of tea. Imagine what it was across the street at Harrods.  Terry saw one sign that said tea for two was 70 pound sterling (of coarse that included tea cakes and cucumber sandwiches). Yikes!!

A good day.  It looked like rain all day, but we didn't get wet.
