Miss Terry looking very chic in her brand new cashmere sweater and cheap market sunglasses (she lost her good ones someplace or the other). Ha.
We got off about twenty minutes late and when we arrived in Copenhagen the arranged transportation had left without us. After trying to reach the tour company via email, we decided to just catch a cab and go to our hotel. As we drove away from the airport, the tour company called with apologies that the cab driver had not checked what time our flight would arrive and if it was on time as he was supposed to do. She said she would reimburse us the cab fare. Ok, not a great start, but we go with it. Once settled into our hotel
After waiting an hour we were afraid to get off at any stops for fear we would would never get back on, so we just rode the full circuit and then headed back to our hotel to clean up for dinner. Our bus voucher is good for two days, so will try again tomorrow.
we took off walking down the longest pedestrian street in Europe looking for a late lunch. The longest street goes between two squares. This is the beginning square
It began to rain so we quickly found a cafe for lunch and we had danish sandwiches (opened faced) on very dense dark rye bread. Mine was chicken salad and very good.
As it was raining on and off, we opted to use our on/off bus pass to see more of the city. We waited for an hour for the every twenty minute bus, but finally were on our way.
Some of the sights we saw
Copenhagen Cathedral
A canal
Part of Christiana, I think. The narration kept getting ahead of and behind what we were passing, so we aren't really sure what we saw. Ha.
Went to the most famous "Tivoli Gardens" to walk around and have dinner.
We ate at Groften
Fun placeBy the time we finished it was dark and Tivoli became a magical place. Cafes, rides and all things bright and beautiful.
Walked home and to bed.
