Edinburgh

Lazy morning doing laundry.  Trying figure out how to use the washer/dryer combo in the apartment we are staying in was an exercise in frustration.  After several false starts washing our first load, then half drying it, and then turned the wrong knob and washed them again. Finally figured it out.  That done, we went in search of an Iphone store to try and get Terry's phone to receive emails. After walking up and down Princes Street twice, we were finally directed to the phone store that housed the "Geek Squad" only to find out they couldn't help her.  Feet already hurting, we went to the visitors center to see what we wanted to do around Edinburgh.  After gathering tons of brochures and buying an Explorer Pass to get into castles and abbeys all over our route through Scotland, we opted for the hop on hop off tour this afternoon.

Found a red hat; did NOT buy this one

Can't get anymore Scot than this

and of course Miss Terry has found her man

Edinburgh Castle

Various streets we drove down

Made it about half way and got off at the Grassmarket area, a cute little street with lots of pubs where we could have lunch.

This was a sign posted outside one cafe
and this one was posted inside the Beehive Inn where we had lunch.  Love this one.

After lunch we jumped back on and went around again making the complete tour without hopping off.
We bought a two day pass, so tomorrow we will actually hop off at Edinburgh castle and other attractions on the route.  Took numerous photos from atop the bus.

We drove down one street and all of a sudden this mountain was in front of us.

More tomorrow

You ladies are wearing me out. How long can you keep up this pace? Looks and sounds like fun. Thanks for all the blog postings.
